danielle firoozi is an iranian-american sculptor based in mexico city. her work treats objects as repositories of tension and longing, where materials record traces of pressure, friction, and quiet absences. working with cast metal, steel, grease, and wood, she creates forms that feel both contained and precarious, suspended between presence and elusiveness.

her sculptures explore missed connections and gestures left unresolved: surfaces press against one another, supports strain, and openings hint at what might have been. romance, yearning, and play linger in the weight of her forms, where heaviness meets levity, and clarity gives way to suggestion. at once intimate and expansive, her work evokes a quiet sense of the cosmic, revealing forces and flows that move just beyond reach.

despite the density of her materials, firoozi embraces chance, repetition, and imperfection, allowing her work to hover between control and collapse, restraint and abandon, certainty and slippage.

firoozi recently presented a solo exhibition at casa wabi sabino (cdmx) and has an upcoming solo exhibition in 2026 with tlaxcala 3 (cdmx). she holds a bfa in sculpture with honors from new york university.
