danielle firoozi is an iranian-american artist who has lived and worked in mexico city since 2018.

her practice is deeply driven by the essence of objects, whether her creations take the form of sculpture, drawings, or performances. her work spans various materials, each chosen to encapsulate specific themes or movements. the study of drag is integral to her artistic exploration, offering insights into identity and transformation. she aims to evoke the sensation of breathlessness in her sculptures, finding inspiration in r&b ballads and choreography.

through the interplay of materials, danielle's works often embody a delicate balance between fragility and industrial strength. despite the rigor of her investigations, she seeks joy in the process, infusing each piece with a sense of playful exploration.

danielle firoozi holds a bfa in sculpture with honors from new york university.

later this year, she will also have solo exhibitions at tlaxcala 3, curated by ali cotero (cdmx), and casa wabi sabino, curated by dakin hart (cdmx).
